What this service does
Qontact gives you a QR sticker for your vehicle. Someone who scans it can tell you what is happening, and can see the details you have chosen to show them.
That is the whole of it. We pass on what you decided to share. We do not verify anyone, we do not make anybody respond, and we are not an emergency service.
What we do not promise
We cannot promise that anyone who scans your sticker will contact you, or that anyone you have listed will answer. Both are other people, doing as they choose.
We cannot promise the sticker survives the weather, the car wash, or being picked at. Follow the printing guidance and check it occasionally.
We cannot promise the service is never briefly unavailable. If it is, the ambulance and police numbers on the scan page still work — they are ordinary phone links and do not depend on us.
What you pay, and when
Your first 30 days are free. No card, no payment details, nothing to cancel.
After that, a sticker costs Rs 499 for the first year and Rs 799 for each year after. Each additional sticker is priced the same and paid for separately.
The price rises over time. It has never been higher than the figure shown on the day you buy.
Payments are final. We do not refund them — the Refunds section below sets out the two narrow exceptions.
Refunds
Payment for a Qontact sticker is not refundable. It is final in whole and in part, and there is no cooling-off period afterwards.
Nobody pays before trying it. Every sticker gets 30 days free, with no card and no payment details taken, so a first payment is only ever made after a month of using the thing being paid for. Before a renewal we write twice — a fortnight before the year ends and again the day before — saying the date and the amount.
That covers changing your mind, selling the vehicle, the sticker coming off or being damaged, deleting your account, and simply stopping using it. It also covers nobody scanning your sticker — which is the outcome we all hope for, and is not a fault — and somebody scanning it and not reaching you, or reaching you and being unhelpful, both of which are other people doing as they choose.
There are two exceptions, and neither is a favour. If you were charged twice for the same sticker, we return the duplicate; tell us and we will find it. If we switch your sticker off and it turns out we were wrong, we switch it back on — and if you would rather have the money back at that point, say so and we will return it. Both are cases where you paid for something you did not get.
Paying for a sticker covers that code for one year from the day the payment is confirmed. When the year ends, the sticker stops showing your details until it is renewed. Nothing is deleted: your numbers and settings stay exactly as they were, and renewing brings them straight back on the same sticker.
It does not renew automatically. No card is kept on file and nothing is ever charged without you paying it yourself, so there is nothing to cancel — a sticker you no longer want is one you simply do not renew.
Once a sticker is paid for, the number plate recorded on it cannot be changed. This is stated before you pay, and you are asked to confirm you have read it.
If you think any of this is wrong, write to us. A person reads every message, and the two cases above are settled without argument. Outside those the answer will be no, and we would rather say so here than after taking your money.
By paying you confirm that you are doing so deliberately and of your own free will, that you are old enough to enter into this, and that you have read the two paragraphs above about what is and is not refunded. You agree to raise any problem with us first, and to give us a fair chance to put it right, rather than opening a chargeback or a payment dispute against a charge you recognise. We keep a record of this payment, of the wording shown to you at the time, and of the moment you confirmed it, and we will provide that record if a dispute is raised. None of this affects any right you have under Pakistani law, and it is not meant to: it is a request to talk to us first, and a statement that we will answer.
How long we will run this
We intend to run Qontact for years. Intentions are not commitments, so here is the commitment:
If we decide to close, we will keep the service running for at least 3 months from the day of your payment. If someone pays the day before we decide, they still get 3 months.
If we decide to close, we stop selling on that day. We then publish an end date, calculated from the most recent payment taken, and tell you when we announce it and again before it arrives.
There are no refunds on a wind-down. The commitment above is what you are owed, and it is what we will provide.
What you must not do
Do not put a sticker on a vehicle that is not yours. We cannot verify ownership, and it is the one thing that turns a helpful product into a harmful one.
Do not record somebody else's number as your own contact. If you list an emergency contact, ask them first — anyone who scans your sticker can see it, and any of them may call.
We can disable a code or an account where we believe this is happening. We tell you why, and you can dispute it.
Deleting your account
You can delete everything at any time, from your account screen. Your stickers stop working immediately and your details are removed.
Payments are not refunded on deletion. We keep an anonymous record of what consent was given and when, with your name, address and numbers removed — it no longer identifies you, and it exists so a question about what was disclosed can still be answered.
Deleting does not renew your free month. What survives is a scrambled, one-way version of your email address — not the address itself, and not anything that can be turned back into it — which lets us tell that this inbox has already had its free month without knowing whose it was. You are welcome to sign up again; the free month is simply not offered twice.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. The contact form needs no account and we read every message.
Where we have got something wrong, we would rather fix it than argue about it.
